Orange occupies the narrow band between red and yellow, roughly 15° to 40°. It is the most legible warning colour after red and the friendliest of the warm hues, but it is also the hardest to keep accessible: a mid orange rarely clears 4.5:1 against white, so orange text usually needs darkening into the brown range.
